Matthew Billman is…

…a singer, composer, producer, arts technologist - generally speaking, a creative human - making music and art in Manhattan, NYC. He currently appears with the Jersey Tenors, following 108 shows as The Phantom in Phantom at the Westchester Broadway Theatre.

Off-Broadway roles: The Imbible (Ash/Vin/Bass), Island Song (Will), Ragtime on Ellis (Father Sub). Regional: Phantom (The Phantom, Westchester Broadway Theatre), Hunchback (Phoebus, White Plains).

Matthew is the founder and former CEO of Apteryx Labs, a consulting and tutoring company specializing in Artificial Intelligence. He is also the co-founder and one-time music director of improvisational a cappella group Voices in Flow, and periodically leads workshops in the city teaching the group's unique improvisational music-making techniques.

In the summer of 2016, Matthew initiated a cappella precursor to Voices in Flow in and around Brooklyn, NY; one recording from this project was used as the theme song for the NPR Politics Podcast during the 2016 election cycle.

Matthew is a trained Bioinformatician and Data Scientist and graduated from Stanford University ('15) as a recipient of their Award of Excellence.
